Oktoberfest Stein This is the third edition in the stein series entitled “Romantic Germany”. It pays tribute to all the Oktoberfests celebrated annually in cities throughout the world.
The model for all of these autumn events is the largest “Volksfest” in the entire world, the famous Munich Oktoberfest. Its origin can be traced back to the wedding celebration for King Ludwig I on October 12, 1810. Since this beginning, the Munich Oktoberfest has been a two-week event, from the end of September to early October and takes place in Munich's Theresienwiese (Theresa Park).
Since 1896, Bierfest “tents” have been part of the tradition, in which friendly “Bierliesls” (beer maidens) serve famous Munich beers in large one-liter steins to nearly 6 million guests each year.
The stein features an intricately detailed figural relief body that provides a full panoramic artistic rendition of the Oktoberfest. It has an entirely handpainted stoneware body, a pewter lid and a Bavarian Crest thumblift. The Oktoberfest stein is completed with a handpainted resin miniature figurine of a Munich brewery wagon, made in England, that is mounted on the lid.
Limited edition of 9,000 pieces. Each stein is individually numbered and includes a full-color certificate of authenticity.
